I can’t blame anyone but myself. Awhile ago I lost control of my temper, and not only did I lose my job, we lost our home, and I had to spend nine and a half months in jail, and I was looking at the fact that I may not be able to provide for my family. It’s been hard to bounce back from that.

Six of those nine and a half months, I did not see my children. I wouldn’t let them see me in there. They thought I was away at school, and they actually took it a lot better than I thought when they found out the truth.

I don’t lie to my children, so I explained to my kids what happened so they could learn from my lesson. My kids matter most to me, and we just try to stick together. Our motto in our family is, “We are all we have.” Without any one of us, we all could fall.
